post test

Today we took the guns germs and steel test. It was about 25 multiple choice questions. The test overall was not very hard and I think I got an A. This unit has been fun and I enjoyed learning about the People of different cultures and societies. This unit has been very informational and I will remember this stuff for a long time. I hope New Guinea is preserved and kept intact because it is a beautiful place with a beautiful culture.

guns germs and steel day 5

Today we watched the end of the documentary. Today it was about the fertile crescent going extinct in a way because it dried out. It was so dry they couldn't grow much anymore. One test question will be how many cows are in the United States of America, There is over 100 million cows. That is about 1 cow for every 3 people.

GUNS GERMS AND STEEL DAY 3

Today we watched more of the Guns Germs and Steel documentary. In the middle east in stone age times the main source of food was wheat and barley. Draa is the oldest village in world history and its in the middle east. Places that first learned how to farm for themselves is China, The United States, Africa and New Guinea. Jerry Diamond has the opinion that places with the most productive crops have the most productive farming. Jerry Diamond also thinks that Why different places are more successful than others is because of geographic luck.

GUNS GERMS AND STEEL DAY 2

Today we watched more of the documentary on Jerry DIamond. When watching the video we all figured out that people from New Guinea can adapt to any environment very fast because they can build almost anything. Ont thing Diamond said was all great places have 3 things in common. Advanced Technology, A large population, and an organized workforce. In new Guinea they still hunt and gather to get food. One way they gather is getting a pulp from a tree and making a dough out of it to cook.

GUNS GERMS AND STEEL

Jerry Diamond, professor at UCLA college has a question about white supremacy. "Why do white men have so much cargo and New Guinea people have so little?". Diamond dwelled on this question and wrote a best selling book about it, Guns Germs and Steel.  This book describes how geographical luck influences a country's success. This book also talks about why there is racial inequality around the world. Diamond hits the nail on the head with age old world questions.
